Surf Expo in collaboration with Sk8ology and ISM premiered a 160 deck fine art on skate decks gallery September 10th through 12th, 2008.

The black protective curtains were pulled off the entire 110 foot long side of Team Pain’s Volcom Sponsored mini ramp and in their place the Sk8ology Gallery went up. The Sk8ology Gallery featured over 160 different artists work from both in and outside of the industry. Skateboard industry notables included: Steve Caballero, Dave Duncan, Chris Pastras, Jason Lee, & Rob Gonzalez.

The decks are all part of a moving exhibition that is raising funds for www.nowthatyouknow.org and www.ismcommunity.org. Nkirote Mbaya, Founder of Now That You Know, said "We are grateful to all the artists who contributed their work and the sponsors to make this fundraising effort a reality. Thanks to you, many girls living below the poverty line will be able to remain in school in Kenya."

"Thousands of shop owners from around the world got to experience the melding of fine art with the skateboard deck medium…and judging by the response we received, our movement of Skateboard Decks as Art is gaining momentum."
Exclaimed Mark "Schmiddy" Schmid, CEO of Sk8ology.

The Headquarters for Given Skateboards is now wallpapered in Skateboard Decks thanks to the latest Sk8ology Deck install.

Kris Markovich, artist, professional skateboarder, and owner of Given had the following to say, "I've had over a hundred pro model decks since my professional career began in 1991 and it's nice to finally have a solid way of displaying them."

Wall space design of Markovich's new company headquarters is now a combination of large art canvases side by side with his pro deck history.

Mark "Schmiddy" Schmid, owner of Sk8ology said, "Kris is the rare combination of iconic artist & professional skateboarder, it's an honor to put up this man's history in his new company headquarters."

With a solid roster of riders, great artwork, and the highest quality product, Given Skateboards is definitely a brand worthy of shelf space at your local shop. Check em out at www.givenskateboards.com

Los Angeles, October 3rd, 2008.

Rob Dyrdek commissioned Sk8ology to display his 20 year history of professional model Decks for the set of his upcoming MTV show: Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory.

The 120 Dyrdek Pro decks, all made by Alien Workshop under the AWS & SEEK brands, were saved for the last 20 years by Rob's Dad and have been boxed and in storage.

Mark "Schmiddy" Schmid, owner of Sk8ology commented, "It's amazing to see a collection of this size and condition in a single venue. Rob is doing it right by making sure his decks are well lit and at the center point of his Fantasy Factory Headquarters."

Working within Hollywood timeframes can be challenging and the Sk8ology crew was still working on set when filming started....Sk8ology's Videographer, Chris Klich, stated: "One second we are putting up boards and filming in a giant construction dustcloud, and the the next second the entire 25,000 square foot set is being hosed down in anticipation of the show starting.....it was crazy."

Dyrdek commented, "I love it.....it makes me feel good to share all this skateboarding history."

The Sk8ology install is the first of several installs planned for Dyrdek's MTV set as Rob stated, "We're gonna do a friends Deck section as well."

For those of you who can't read the text, it says:
"If you're anything like me, you probably have a few of your favorite boards hanging on the walls where you live. To get these classics to stay put, what method do you use? Nail and shoelace? Wood screws through the truck holes? Ugh, I've done both and it looked like shit, my friend. Well, here's where the Sk8ology Floating Deck Display comes in handy 'cause they're packed with everything you need, including a correct-sized drill bit (but not the drill) to hang your deck like it was in a museum. So ask your local skateshop to order you some of these babies, and you'll be well on your way to lookin' good!"

January 24th, 2008. San Diego, CA . Convention Center - Action Sports Retailer Show

Sk8ology Inc. premiered its new line of patent protected display products for the Skateboard industry. The product, a display system that allows skateboard decks to be displayed on any vertical surface, allows skateboard decks to appear to be floating off the wall with no apparent hardware attached. This is the first time the action sports industry has a product that allows consumers to display their collectable decks in a museum quality manner. "The melding of good interior design aesthetic and the action sports hardgoods has officially launched." said Mark Schmid, the inventor of the Sk8ology product line. Business on the first day was brisk with more than 20 international distribution companies placing orders along with dozens of orders & interest from several hundred domestic skateboard shops. The Sk8ology system effectively displays just decks or the complete skateboard. They are available for sale online at www.deckdisplay.com
